Ann Marie Horgan

Ann Marie graduated with honours from the Veterinary faculty in U.C.D. in 2000.Having enjoyed 5 years in mixed practice she decided to specialise in small animals in 2005.She has locumed in both the U.K. and Ireland and gained valuable experience through this and her work with the Dublin Animal Emergency clinic based in U.C.D. Her specialised interest is in internal medicine and ultrasonography. She has completed an intensive 2 year small animal medicine course and recently achieved the E.S.V.P.S General Practitioner certificate in small animal medicine. She is currently attending a 2 year modular small animal surgery course towards achieving the E.S.V.P.S. General Practioner Certficate in Small Animal Surgery

John graduated from the veterinary faculty in University College Dublin in 2000. He spent the first 5 years in mixed animal practice between Ireland, Isle of Man and New Zealand.In 2005 he moved to Yorkshire to pursue a career in small animal practice.John completed a 2 year general practitioner modular course in small animal medicine while working in Yorkshire. After three happy years at the same practice he subsequently moved to Birmingham to work for the PDSA, a well known UK animal charity. It is here that John had the opportunity to pursue his interest in small animal surgery. He moved back to Ireland having spent two invaluable years at the PDSA and was delighted to join Allpets in December 2009.

Colin Healy MVB MRCVS.

Colin Healy

Colin enjoyed over 30 years general mixed practice and in 2004 left general practice to specialise in small animal orthopaedic surgery. His continued professional development courses have been focused on fracture repair and orthopaedic injuries such as cruciate disease. He particularly enjoys performing the TTO procedure for cruciate repair which has recently become one of the surgeries of choice for large dogs with cruciate rupture. Colin holds the position as consultant to the clinic for orthopaedic cases and orthopaedic consultations with Colin can by arranged by appointment by contacting the clinic.

Sinead Kelly MVB MRCVS,Cert Vet Radiology.

Sinead Kelly

Sinead graduated from University College Dublin in 1992 and spent a total of 18 years working in the UK. Initially she did a small animal internship at Glasgow University Veterinary School for two years, where she learned the fundamental basics of referral medicine. While working there she studied for and gained her Certificate in Veterinary Radiology. She then worked in Small Animal Practice in Glasgow for four years before joining the RSPCA in Cheshire at their Stapeley Grange Wildlife Hospital and Rehoming Cattery between 1998 and 2002. She returned to the field of Small Animal Practice in Leeds and subsequently Glasgow, before joining Vets Now and working in their Emergency Out of Hours Hospitals in Glasgow and Stoke for a total of seven years.She moved back to Ireland in 2010 and has thoroughly enjoyed working at AllPets Veterinary Hospital since then. Her special areas of veterinary interest are Emergency Medicine, Critical Care and Radiology.

Karen Rooney, Head Nurse

Karen Rooney

Karen is a registered veterinary nurse and she joined the practice in December 2006, having attained her Diploma in Veterinary nursing from UCD in 2005. She previously spent four years working in a 100% small animal clinic in Dublin where she gained a wealth of experience that has been invaluable to the practice. As head nurse her many duties include practice organisation, nurse clinics and overseeing the progression of the trainee nurses.

Lucy Kelly

Lucy Kelly

Lucy joined the practice in August 2006. Her enthusiasm and love for working with small animals evolved from her previous experience working in a pet shop and grooming parlour. She has a particular interest in exotic species and her area of expertise include running the monthly puppy parties and doing the complimentary six month puppy/kitten checks.

Laura McKay R.V.N.

Corina Fitzsimons

Laura is a registered veterinary nurse, who graduated from University College Dublin in 2009. She has been working in small animal practice for seven years. Laura also works part-time in the Dublin Animal Emergency Clinic based in the Veterinary College, and has a keen interest in emergency medicine and anaesthesia and analgesia. Her main outside interest is amateur equestrianism, and she has one shaggy mongrel called Lucy.

Melissa Butterly, Trainee Veterinary Nurse.

Melissa Butterly

Melissa worked at Allpets during her work placement in the Animal Care Course at Drogheda Institute Of Further Education .This led her to choose veterinary nursing as her chosen career path and now works part time with the practice while studying Veterinary Nursing in the nearby Dundalk Institute Of Technology.
